Scouts raced carts down Holmes Street in Marion for a chance to help make their den the fastest in the pack. The Mattapoisett, Marion and Rochester Boards of Health canceled all evening activities on town grounds, and announced 6:00 pm closures of ball parks, playgrounds and town beaches as a result of what the state is calling a public health threat.
