Planning for 150511 viewsOn Sunday, April 1, a group of gardening enthusiasts gathered at The Mattapoisett Inn for a benefit aimed at helping to beautify the town with flowers in advance of this summers 150th birthday celebration. The project will include installing window boxes at Shipyard Park and the Town Beach and also planting a flower bed in the shape of the 150th Anniversary logo at the entrance to the Town Wharf. Ashley Mural511 viewsThe mural by Clifford Ashley, donated to the Mattapoisett Historical Society by Polly Duff Phipps, was unveiled in a ceremony at the Mattapoisett Museum and Carriage House on July 31, 2011 after extensive renovation. The mural, entitled "A Chart of the Whale Coast of New England, c. 1810" will now be on display in the Museum at 5 Church Street, Mattapoisett.
