Occasion Singers445 viewsThe Marion Art Center celebrated Valentines Day a few days early as they welcomed the Occasion Singers for a sold out performance during the center's Cabaret Night of Love Songs on Saturday evening, February 11. The capacity crowd was treated to a night of jazz, pop, older standards and love songs from the Tri-Town based vocal group. Triathlon445 viewsOn Sunday, July 8, the Mattapoisett Lions Club held their Annual Triathlon at the Mattapoisett Beach. 172 individual riders and 23 relay teams participated in the event, which included a half-mile swim, 10 mile bike ride and 3.1 mile run. Art in Bloom 445 viewsThe Marion Art Center’s Art in Bloom opened on Friday, organizers and volunteers gathered Friday afternoon to prepare the exhibit. Works by Mary Jane McCoy and Arthur Kvarnstrom will be paired with interpretative floral arrangements by members of the Marion Garden Discussion Group. Art in Bloom runs through July 13. Firefighters Memorial 445 viewsEight firefighters – four from Rochester – followed bagpiper Iain Massie to the Firefighters Memorial the morning of 8/24 to begin the inaugural four-day, 316-mile long Southern New England Brotherhood Ride, organized by Rochester Firefighter Andy Weigel.
