Marion Natural History Museum554 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum had a great time learning how to identify some of our rare turtles and what to do if we find one. We found out which is our smelliest turtle and which can close up into a "box" so tight you can't even slip a piece of paper between its shell. The students had a chance to get up close with a diamondback terrapin, an Eastern box turtle, and an enormous Plymouth red-bellied cooter. DECA is a program dedicated to preparing young students for the real world. Specifically, it focuses on a wide variety of business subjects, from management to accounting to tourism. There is something for everyone to do in DECA, and there is something for everyone to get out of DECA. There are over 250,000 members nationwide, and a striking 50 students at Old Rochester.

High Winds and Waves554 viewsOn February 7, rain and high winds hit Southeastern Massachusetts, resulting in thousands of electrical outages. The hardest hit in the Tri-Town area was Rochester with more than 500 Eversource customers reporting wires down and service interruptions from mid-afternoon into the night. Wrestling in Rochester553 viewsMembers of the Northeast Championship Wrestling League (NCW) held a series of wrestling matchups in the gymnasium of Rochester’s Memorial School on Saturday, April 14 on the occasion of their tenth anniversary to stage a ‘Reunion’ of NCW to benefit the family of RMS science teacher Tom Kinsky. Mr. Kinsky and his family lost their Wareham home to fire on the night of February 25, which left the family in need of virtually all necessities. (Photo by Robert Chiarito).

Scouts raced carts down Holmes Street in Marion for a chance to help make their den the fastest in the pack.
