Cushing Community Center on Sunday, December 8. ‘Chief’ Santa and Mrs. Claus entertained the little ones before enjoying a pizza lunch. Dragon Crossing521 viewsMattapoisett Animal Officer Kathy Massey was called to the area of Route 6 at the Mattapoisett/Marion line late Friday morning for what turned out to be a Tegu Dragon crossing the road. The 4-foot Tegu was transported to Mattapoisett Animal Hospital for treatment and was then brought to an undisclosed location for nourishment. Bikes, Bikes, Bikes!520 viewsThe Third Annual Pan Mass Challenge Kids Tri-Town Ride attracted several hundred young bicyclist to the ORR campus on Saturday morning, May 16, for a bike rally to help defeat cancer. Proceeds from the event will go to several charities in the state such as the Jimmy Fund and Dana- Farber Cancer Institute to assist in cancer research. Habitat for Humanity520 viewsBuzzards Bay Area Habitat for Humanity recently held a Cape Cod Canal boat cruise fundraiser for their next build. The event was very well attended with lots of great food from local restaurants. The premier sponsor of the event was Pilgrim Bank. Habitat was able to raise $5,000 for their upcoming build.

The public was welcome to tour the facilities, and children enjoyed exploring all the engines available at the station.
