Pinewood Derby499 viewsOn Saturday, March 2nd 2013, The Cubs Scout Pack 32 held a pinewood derby at the Community Hall of the Congregational Church in Marion. The results were 1st Lucas Marcolini, 2nd Brendan Hubbard, 3rd Nathaniel Bangs, and 4th Nate Robertson. All four move on to regional finals in New Bedford later this month. Mattapoisett Tree Committee499 viewsMattapoisett fifth grader Fiona Hoben won 1st prize in the Arbor Day poster contest sponsored by the Mattapoisett Tree Committee in partnership with the Massachusetts Urban and Community Forestry Program. Runner up was Camryn Maniatis. Fifteen students worked with Old Hammondtown School art instructor Greta Anderson. The posters were judged by a group of Mattapoisett residents whose understanding and appreciation of art brought professional level review to the event.
