Old Rochester Little League458 viewsThe Old Rochester Little League celebrated its Opening Day of the 2016 season on Saturday, April 30 at Gifford Park off Dexter Road in Rochester. The young athletes took part in the traditional Opening Day parade, which began at Dexter Park and concluded at Dexter Field. Wearing only socks on his feet, Hall exited his Snipatuit Road home on April 15 and was greeted by PCH Prize Patroller Howie Guja who was holding a giant check for $50,000 with Hall’s name on it, roses, and a bottle of bubbly. Rochester Fire Department458 viewsThe Rochester Board of Selectmen made it official on May 6 when they signed the contract making Fire Chief Scott Weigel Rochester’s first ever full-time fire chief. Weigel was sworn in surrounded by family and firefighters in formal dress from Rochester and surrounding towns. Outside the party gathered for photos and left with celebratory sirens.
