Murphy the dog462 viewsFirefighters in Rochester rescued Murphy the dog from the icy waters off of Sarah Sherman Road after straying from his family and falling through the thin ice on December 20. Firefighter Jeff Eldridge mounted an ice sled and headed 300 feet across the frozen pond to reach Murphy. The two were then pulled to land and Murphy was promptly taken to the ambulance. Mattapoisett YMCA462 viewsOn Sunday, October 20, the Mattapoisett YMCA hosted its first annual Harbor Brew Fest. Participants enjoyed this sunny day of local brew tastings, live music by Sean Carney, and fresh scallops, while overlooking beautiful Mattapoisett Harbor. A bonfire on the beach accompanied by a smores bar added to the fun. All proceeds from the event will go towards the Mattapoisett YMCA’s Annual Campaign that helps deserving children attend summer camp, preschool and afterschool care.
