Proceeds from the event will go to several charities in the state such as the Jimmy Fund and Dana- Farber Cancer Institute to assist in cancer research. The Circus, which featured highflying aerial acts, animal acts and plenty of clowns played four shows under the big top during its two-day stay. Poker Run570 viewsMotorcyclists gathered Sunday morning, September 20, in the parking lot of ORR to ride in the third annual Poker Run for Alex Pateakos. Alex is a five-year-old Marion boy who suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Money raised by the poker run will benefit Alex, and Families of SMA, a group that helps families like the Pateakos’ live their lives as close to normal as possible. Soles for Soul570 viewsORR high school and junior high school are participating in the “Soles for Souls” campaign to supply gently used shoes to the victims of the earthquake in Haiti. Teacher Margaret Benson said that it’s an attempt to help people who have “lost everything and can’t begin to repair without something to walk in”.
