Wheeler, formerly of Marion and grandson of Mattapoisett resident Lee Eaton, was award the Henry Mancini Fellowship at the Ascap Foundation Awards Ceremony. The ceremony took place at the Home of Jazz at the Lincoln Center in New York on December 9, 2009. Mr. Wheeler is a 2004 graduate of Old Rochester Regional, and received a Bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, in Studio Composition from SUNY/Purchase in 2008.

Scouts raced carts down Holmes Street in Marion for a chance to help make their den the fastest in the pack. Army Sergeant Ryan McGrath also returned on Thursday, September 1. Mattapoisett resident Kim Corazzini, a friend of the Rosperich family, led over 20 volunteers to give the men a proper welcome, which included lining Route 6 with yellow ribbons, American flags and welcome home signs.
