Cushing Post 2425 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Christmas Swim469 viewsA 2009 Christmas morning swim benefitted Helping Hands and Hooves, a Mattapoisett non-profit organization dedicated to therapeutic horseback riding for adults with disabilities. 40 swimmers and at least 50 onlookers participated in the 2009 swim. The police station operated out of their parking lot on the Memorial Day weekend of 2010 due to a burst water pipe on the second floor of the station, which caused significant damage to the building.
