Santa Arrives577 viewsMattapoisett held its annual holiday celebration and tree lighting on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Shipyard Park. The rain couldn't dampen holiday spirits as visitors enjoyed delicious food and listened to Christmas music performed by the Showstoppers. Ready, Set, Go!577 viewsOn Sunday, March 21, 2010 The Marion Cub Scouts Pack 32 revived the annual soap-box derby after a three-year absence. Scouts raced carts down Holmes Street in Marion for a chance to help make their den the fastest in the pack. Donald Jason577 viewsThis painting, entitled “Grand Banks Fisherman”, was one of many original paintings by Mattapoisett resident Donald C. Jason. Many of his paintings were featured on the covers of his weekly Presto Press, this “Fisherman” was featured on the cover of the May 27, 1992 edition, one of the last weeks the Presto Press was published. Mr. Jason, described by family members as an artist and entrepreneur, died on November 22, 2010.
