Top Cheer477 viewsOn Saturday, November 14, 2009, the Junior PeeWee Cheerleaders aged 9-11 from Old Rochester Youth Football (ORYF) competed in the New England Cheer and Dance Competition in Boston. The girls, coached by Patti McArdle and Cheryl Sweeney, won first place in their group and were also awarded the Grand Champion Trophy for the youth division. The cheerleaders are all from Mattapoisett, Marion or Rochester.

Welcome Home477 viewsMarine Corps Lance Corporal and Mattapoisett resident Greg Rosperich, returned from a second tour of duty in Afghanistan last week. Army Sergeant Ryan McGrath also returned on Thursday, September 1. Mattapoisett resident Kim Corazzini, a friend of the Rosperich family, led over 20 volunteers to give the men a proper welcome, which included lining Route 6 with yellow ribbons, American flags and welcome home signs.
