Celebrating the 4th523 viewsMarion's annual fireworks display attracted several thousand people to the town's Silvershell Beach Park on Friday evening July, 3. The Marion town band entertained the crowd until dusk when the night's big show lit up the sky's above Sippican Harbor. The Marion Fireworks Committee raised all of the funds for the event through private donations, collected up through the night of the show. Photo by Robert Chiarito.

4th of July Parade523 viewsThe Sun finally broke through the clouds to help make for a glorious Tri-Town Fourth of July weekend highlighted by Marion's annual Independence Day Parade, hosted by the Benjamin D. Cushing Post 2425 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Parade goers lined the streets of Marion Village as floats, antique vehicles, bands, and emergency vehicles made their way along the parade route this past Saturday morning. Photo by Robert Chiarito.

There were 12 stops on the tour, including 5 private residences and several historical town buildings. Handy’s Tavern was especially awe-inspiring, with over 50 decorated trees.
