Old Rochester Little League495 viewsThe Old Rochester Little League celebrated its Opening Day of the 2016 season on Saturday, April 30 at Gifford Park off Dexter Road in Rochester. The young athletes took part in the traditional Opening Day parade, which began at Dexter Park and concluded at Dexter Field. Marion Natural History Museum 495 viewsOn August 8, the Marion Natural History Museum hosted Amy Kukulya, a research engineer with Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and one of the lead authorities on the SharkCam research vehicle. Kukulya spoke about the science of tagging great white sharks and shared video footage as a SharkCam was repeatedly attacked by a shark; yet, with only a dent, survived to continue following and monitoring these incredible animals.

Socks of Love 495 viewsMattapoisett Congregational Church thanks the community for its generosity and help in preparing Socks of Love for the homeless on Sunday, February 9. Souza, USA, will be the principal speaker for Mattapoisett’s annual Veterans’ Day Ceremonies to be held on Tuesday, November 11 beginning at 11:00 am at Old Hammondtown School. Colonel Souza enlisted in the Massachusetts Army National Guard in 1983. She was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in August 1984 after graduating from the Massachusetts Military Academy.

Bikes, Bikes, Bikes!494 viewsThe Third Annual Pan Mass Challenge Kids Tri-Town Ride attracted several hundred young bicyclist to the ORR campus on Saturday morning, May 16, for a bike rally to help defeat cancer. Proceeds from the event will go to several charities in the state such as the Jimmy Fund and Dana- Farber Cancer Institute to assist in cancer research.
