Take a Hike!558 views In our first installment of “Take a Hike!” we visited Church’s Field in Rochester off Mattapoisett Road. This Rochester Land trust property is easily accessible, with off-road parking and a wide, mulched trail – and, despite the persistent occupation of winter, there is beauty to be found in every season in Tri-Town. The trail loops through a Holly tree grove, passing mossy glacial outcroppings of rocks, and leads to a river, where the historical ruins of the Church family saw mill wait to be rediscovered.

Old Rochester Little League558 viewsThe Old Rochester Little League celebrated its Opening Day of the 2016 season on Saturday, April 30 at Gifford Park off Dexter Road in Rochester. The young athletes took part in the traditional Opening Day parade, which began at Dexter Park and concluded at Dexter Field. SLT Oyster Fest 558 viewsThe Sippican Lands Trust’s Beer and Oyster Fest fundraiser was a hit despite the threat of approaching Hurricane Dorian, which was replaced with blue skies just in time, and holding the event earlier in the day mitigated the guests’ exposure to EEE-carrying mosquitos.
