Blooming Bulbs988 viewsLast November, the second graders of Rochester Memorial School planted numerous daffodil, tulip, hyacinth and crocus bulbs. The bulbs were provided through a grant from the North American Flower Bulb Wholesales Association and they are now blooming! Mr. Nunes Goes to Washington985 viewsRochester Selectman Richard D. Nunes (third from left) recently worked for three months for Alan D. Lebowitz, the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Program Operations (DASPO) for the Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) in Washington, DC. Mr. Nunes, a lawyer and Senior Investigator for the Boston Regional Office, worked as Special Assistant to the DASPO in the National Office. During this detail, Mr. Nunes was admitted and sworn into the U.S. Supreme Court and also paid a visit to the White House.

House of Horrors!984 viewsSpooky setpieces are strewn throughout the Haunted Yard display located at 57 Fort Street in Fairhaven (across from the Fairhaven Shipyard). This annual “Terror Tradition” is hosted by the father and son team of Richard and Matthew Brodeur to benefit local Shriner’s Hospitals. The yard is open to visitors — if you dare! — every Friday and Saturday night from dusk until 9:30 pm and on Sundays from dusk until 9:00 pm throughout the month of October, including Halloween night.
