Plymouth Sands Trail Riders 609 viewsOn Sunday, October 28, the Plymouth Sands Trail Riders bike club held a hare scramble at the Mattapoisett landfill. The club, which boasts over 300 members from all around New England, had over 100 riders participate in the event. Riders from teens up to seniors took off for the 40 minute races around the 2.5 mile wooded track. Feestaardvarken609 viewsFeestaardvarken (Party Aardvark) is a 30-meter long (98 feet) concrete sculpture located in the center of Arnhem in the Netherlands. The sculpture was commissioned by Burgers’ Zoo to commemorate their 100th anniversary in 2013. It was created by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, who has many great works including a giant rubber duck that has been displayed around the world. The race was held to benefit the Women’s Fund of Southeastern Massachusetts. Many of the runners donned tiaras and capes, making this event one of the more colorful local road races.
