Hurricane of 1938695 viewsMattapoisett resident Tim Smith purchased a collection of original Hurricane of 1938 photographs from an auction recently. The photographs show the devastation of the legendary hurricane in the area of Mattapoisett’s Silver Shell Beach and Angelica Point. Mr. Smith does not believe that the pictures have ever been published, and gave The Wanderer the first chance at publishing the photos. Plymouth Sands Trail Riders 695 viewsOn Sunday, October 28, the Plymouth Sands Trail Riders bike club held a hare scramble at the Mattapoisett landfill. The club, which boasts over 300 members from all around New England, had over 100 riders participate in the event. Riders from teens up to seniors took off for the 40 minute races around the 2.5 mile wooded track.
