Marion Natural History Museum543 viewsDuring Wednesday's “Soil Critters” afterschool program, students had the opportunity to learn about what makes up a healthy soil and how varying numbers of insects populate different types of soil. The soil from the compost pile had the highest number of animals, with 17 pill bugs, 26 worms, two beetles, 34 springtails, two millipedes and one nematode. Romance and Dance542 viewsFlutist and Marion resident Wendy Rolfe and pianist Deborah DeWolf Emery will perform a tea-time concert titled Romance & Dance! at the First Congregational Church of Marion on Saturday, January 26 beginning at 5:00 pm. The program will feature lively tangos, Brazilian dances, lyrical romances, and Eastern European folk rhythms by world-renowned performers. Suggested donations at the door of $8 ($4 for students) will benefit the music program at the First Congregational Church.
