Celebrating the 4th559 viewsMarion's annual fireworks display attracted several thousand people to the town's Silvershell Beach Park on Friday evening July, 3. The Marion town band entertained the crowd until dusk when the night's big show lit up the sky's above Sippican Harbor. We took a close look at the insides of cranberries to discover what makes them float, counted seeds - which tell us how many times a plant was fertilized by a bee – and had a chance to see how far we could "bounce" a berry. Relay for Life558 viewsThe American Cancer Society held their third annual Relay for Life of the Tri-Town at the Old Rochester Regional High School track on Friday, June 8 and Saturday, June 9 to raise funds in the fight against cancer. This year 21 teams of walkers raised more than $60,000 before the first step had been taken on Friday night more than tripling the total amount of money raised in the first year of the walk-a-thon in 2005.
