The Derby was held at the Sippican School where scouts raced cars weighing less than 5 ounces down a sloped wooden track. Everyone cheered as the wooden cars raced down the track in packs or four. Mattapoisett Fire Department 607 viewsOn March 6 at approximately 10:09 am, the Mattapoisett Fire Department was dispatched to 141 Fairhaven Road for a reported structure fire. Fire Chief Andrew Murray arrived on scene at 10:11 am and reported heavy fire and smoke showing from the rear of the structure. At the time, a first-alarm assignment was requested to the scene, bringing in engines from Marion and Fairhaven Fire. Rochester Fire responded to Mattapoisett fire station for station coverage. OHS Heads West!606 viewsThe Old Hammondtown School Drama Club presented a stirring production of “Go West!” on Thursday May 3 at 7:00 pm for the general public and Friday May 4 at 9:00 am for fellow students. Seventy students were part of this impressive production with assistance from Ms. Cathleen Sinnott and members of the Old Rochester Regional High School Drama Club along with many parent volunteers who worked diligently with the students since January.
