Circus Time690 viewsThe Cole Brothers Circus made its annual visit to Rochester's Plumb Corner on Wednesday, June 24 and Thursday, June 25. The Circus, which featured highflying aerial acts, animal acts and plenty of clowns played four shows under the big top during its two-day stay. Thousands of visitors flocked to the Mattapoisett waterfront for this annual event now in its twenty sixth year. The soil from the compost pile had the highest number of animals, with 17 pill bugs, 26 worms, two beetles, 34 springtails, two millipedes and one nematode. The Patriot’s Pen essay contest gives sixth, seventh and eighth grade students the opportunity to express their opinion on a patriotic theme and improve their writing skills, while they compete for worthwhile awards and prizes. Friends Academy’s seventh and eighth grade English teacher Lauren Corliss encouraged all of her students to participate in the essay writing contest.
