Last weekend at the Mattapoisett Free Public Library, art created by students of Ms. Greta Anderson’s art class at Old Hammondtown School was on display. But not just any art, this was for the Annual Arbor Day Poster Contest sponsored by the state and the Mattapoisett Tree Committee. Old Town Square in Prague,194 viewsThe Wanderer’s June 11 Edition in the Old Town Square in Prague, Czechia. The tower is part of the Old Town Hall and was built in 1364. It has survived much upheaval, war, and occupation, and stands as a testament to the Czech people, who have brought back color to the city once hailed as “Paris of the East.” I was not able to actually read this edition outdoors in the square, as the European heatwave bested me. Given they are birds of prey, there's mainly rodents and small birds on their menu. The owl must regurgitate the indigestible bones, fur, feathers, etc. by forming a pellet before eating another meal. Owls swallow their prey whole or in large pieces, and when the pellet is regurgitated, the undigestible pieces reappear. Bones, hair, and exoskeletons are common in owl pellets and can help observers identify the type of prey consumed as well as where it might have been caught.
