Last weekend at the Mattapoisett Free Public Library, art created by students of Ms. Greta Anderson’s art class at Old Hammondtown School was on display. But not just any art, this was for the Annual Arbor Day Poster Contest sponsored by the state and the Mattapoisett Tree Committee. Tickets were sold out and the venue was filled up. Oysters were served alongside beer and whatever food the over 20 different tables decided to bring. The gang got in touch with the Harbormaster and Mattapoisett Police, but before wildlife experts would arrive on the scene, the tide rose, and the manatee ventured back to sea.
