They gathered at the front of the Mattapoisett Congressional Church to await the bells ringing at 11:00 am. As they waited, a few stray snowflakes drifted down from a white sky. The event saw hundreds of students, their siblings, and other kiddos come give their Halloween costumes a trial-run and get some candy at a trunk-or-treat. The planting of the bulbs in an area behind of the school, was the culmination of a science lesson on the structure and function of a bulb as well as the environmental factors necessary for its growth and flower production.
