Rochester Historical Commission 286 viewsThe commission donates and posts plaques to showcase the town’s architectural history. On December 17, Commission Chairperson Connie Eshbach and the members donated and mounted a plaque at the Grange, which joins the Rochester Women's Club, East Rochester Congregational Church and Town Hall as recipients of a plaque. Tri-Town firefighters286 viewsThe holidays were challenging for Tri-Town firefighters. Marion and Rochester fire departments were among towns assisting Wareham after a mulch pile in a remote location off County Road caught fire on Christmas Eve. Firefighters worked in cold temperatures for eight hours, dispensing approximately 200,000 gallons of water to extinguish the fire. Seen supporting Wareham Fire Chief John Kelley and 29 Wareham Fire personnel at the scene were Marion Fire Tanker 1, Lieutenant Michael Still and Captain Joel Watte

Marion Natural History Museum 286 viewsOn a beautiful Saturday morning, the Nature Journaling group met with artist Tricia Cassady to learn about some techniques for journaling in nature. We took part in some exercises to loosen up and then had fun finding our own specimens to draw. We also had a chance to discuss our different experiences and have some laughs. Cardboard Boats285 viewsGrade 7 students at Old Rochester Regional Junior High School took to the beach on Tuesday morning for a field day at the Mattapoisett YMCA that featured a cardboard boat race.
