The Great Community Picnic 155 viewsMattapoisett Museum and the Mattapoisett Land Trust held The Great Community Picnic on Thursday, August 7 at Munro Preserve on the water. Tickets were sold out and the venue was filled up. Oysters were served alongside beer and whatever food the over 20 different tables decided to bring. Marion Natural History Museum154 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum hosted Bethany Boucher of Amazing Animal Ambassadors Monday afternoon. We met Milo the Fennec Fox and had a chance to compare attributes of Peter Quill the hedgehog to Iris the tenrec. We also met a skunk, a ferret, and a very friendly chinchilla. The group sent a card to a school in Mexico near the Oyamel fir forests of the Central Highlands to share a little information about Marion. We’ll be hearing back from them next spring with more information about the Monarch’s winter habitat. Many thanks to Maggie Payne for sharing her butterfly expertise with the group!
