Halloween Parade294 viewsThe streets of Marion were flooded with Halloween Parade participants and attendees, as members of the Sippican Elementary School Band helped the “witches” of the Marion Art Center lead a procession that began at the Music Hall and went down Front Street, up Main Street past the Elizabeth Taber statue and onto Spring Street, where children were met at Town House by staff members handing out candy for the kids. Speaking on Humpback whales, Dr. Kavanagh covered several stages, including giving birth (tail first), and how male humpbacks shield the mother while she’s giving birth by creating a bubble-net screen. Marion Natural History Museum 294 viewsOn a beautiful Saturday morning, the Nature Journaling group met with artist Tricia Cassady to learn about some techniques for journaling in nature. We took part in some exercises to loosen up and then had fun finding our own specimens to draw. We also had a chance to discuss our different experiences and have some laughs.
