ORR Spirit Week345 viewsThe culmination of Old Rochester Regional High School’s Spirit Week was a pep rally held after October 7 classes in the gymnasium. ORR sophomores performed a Wizard of Oz skit, and the ORR Bulldog joined Dorothy and company. The seniors displayed a "Back in Time/Back to the Future" theme, featuring a cleverly constructed “Delorean,” a colorful aerobics class, lots of action and energetic music with Marty McFly and Doc Brown characters joined by the heroic Bulldog.

Mattapoisett Polar Plunge345 viewsNew Year’s Day 2023 was bright and balmy when over 100 “plungers” ran, walked, hopped and slid into the freezing waters at Mattapoisett Town Beach. The event was hosted by an ad hoc group collecting donations for those battling cancer. The group has been successful in their efforts to help offset the unseen costs associated with a cancer diagnosis impacting local families. 345 viewsOn view now as an outdoor art installation are two works created by UMass visual art students located at Dunseith, the Mattapoisett Land Trust park property at the corner of Route 6 and North Street. Both works are interactive in that The Bean has moveable parts that give viewers of all ages the opportunity to leave their own impact on tiny sculptures by relocating them across the surface of the sculpture. The Catalyst is bed-like, beckoning viewers to set aside cares and rest for a moment.
