Mattapoisett Land Trust133 viewsOn May 6, volunteers from the Mattapoisett Land Trust planted over two dozen sunflower seedlings in a row along Route 6 at Dunseith Park, just in front of Salty the Seahorse. Don Cuddy donated the seedlings and organized the planting as a symbolic gesture of MLT standing in solidarity with the people of Ukraine. Kayak Clinic133 viewsAugust 9 and 10, the Mattapoisett Land Trust in partnership with the Mattapoisett Recreation Department held two kayak clinics for children ages 8 to 12. MLT volunteers provided safety instructions, a major focus of the program. Kayak introductory instruction has been provided by the two organizations for six years. Bristol County Radio Control Club 133 viewsMembers of the Bristol County Radio Control Club gathered on August 20 at Mary's Pond in Rochester for the annual fun fly of radio-controlled pontoon airplanes. Nationally, there are several thousand recognized clubs engaged in the activity, said Ned Watts, an avid pilot of the Styrofoam craft.
