The Marion town band entertained the crowd until dusk when the night's big show lit up the sky's above Sippican Harbor. Soapbox Derby!699 viewsOn Sunday, March 21, 2010 The Marion Cub Scouts Pack 32 revived the annual soap-box derby after a three-year absence. Scouts raced carts down Holmes Street in Marion for a chance to help make their den the fastest in the pack. While there they enjoyed the first snow of the season in the first week of October as well as a visit to the black sand beached near Grótta which is just east of Reykjavík. The black sand on the beaches are made from lava which has been tumbled by the surf for centuries.
