Marion Natural History Museum136 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum afterschool group enjoyed learning about Marion's vernal pools last week. We had a chance to handle some wood frog eggs, take a close look at some aquatic invertebrates, and learn about the temporary nature of these important habitats. All specimens were returned safely to their homes after the program. The museum will be open during April vacation week for crafts and exploration. Rochester Fire Department136 viewsMembers of the Rochester Fire Department participated in full gear for Saturday’s, 3-mile Team Hero's Walk held at Fort Taber in New Bedford. In the department’s 10th year walking, the participants raised $8,500, the largest amount raised to date as they symbolized the extra weight of living with Multiple Sclerosis. In 2014, Deputy Fire Chief and Highway Surveyor Jeff Eldridge was diagnosed with MS after experiencing the pain of trigeminal neuralgia, a condition he continues to battle while serving the Town

Little Free Diverse Library135 viewsIt's been a year since Tri-Town Against Racism’s first Little Free Diverse Library was installed at Ned's Point in Mattapoisett, and on May 12 TTAR members along with supporters gathered again to celebrate, this time the reopening of the little library that in November 2021 had been vandalized, destroying both the structure and the books it held.
