Manning the information table were long-time team members Nancy Souza and Wendy Medeiros. The rally brought together Jeep owners and relay supporters from Rhode Island, Texas and North Carolina. ORR Spirit Week256 viewsThe culmination of Old Rochester Regional High School’s Spirit Week was a pep rally held after October 7 classes in the gymnasium. ORR sophomores performed a Wizard of Oz skit, and the ORR Bulldog joined Dorothy and company. The seniors displayed a "Back in Time/Back to the Future" theme, featuring a cleverly constructed “Delorean,” a colorful aerobics class, lots of action and energetic music with Marty McFly and Doc Brown characters joined by the heroic Bulldog.

Halloween Parade256 viewsThe streets of Marion were flooded with Halloween Parade participants and attendees, as members of the Sippican Elementary School Band helped the “witches” of the Marion Art Center lead a procession that began at the Music Hall and went down Front Street, up Main Street past the Elizabeth Taber statue and onto Spring Street, where children were met at Town House by staff members handing out candy for the kids. The event was hosted by an ad hoc group collecting donations for those battling cancer. The group has been successful in their efforts to help offset the unseen costs associated with a cancer diagnosis impacting local families. Arbor Day256 viewsMattapoisett's Tree Committee held its annual Arbor Day poster contest in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation on March 2. Forty-three Old Hammondtown fifth-grade students participated in this year's contest. The winner will have their poster with the theme "It’s time for trees" entered into the state-wide competition. The poster contest is an ongoing effort by the Tree Committee to enlighten children regarding the importance of trees in our landscapes.
