Marion Town Party138 viewsEllie O’Brien, 5, of Marion smiles down from the peak of a climbing wall, part of the fun children had at the Marion Town Party on August 27 at Silvershell Beach. Inflatable arcade games, cornhole, an informal football toss and an undefinable ball game inside a walled octagon kept kids running and laughing, while their parents and grandparents socialized over barbecue and beverages. Rochester Country Fair Grounds138 viewsThe front entrance to the Rochester Country Fair Grounds sits quietly on Monday afternoon. After a 21-year run, the fair is shutting down for the next two years to reassess and determine a course of action following three straight cancelations by weather and two virus threats. Despite the decision, organizer Kelly Morgado says the Fair Committee plans to allocate remaining revolving-account funds to scholarships for six students attending any of the following high schools.
