We heard how various animals get hurt, be it hit by a car, rat-poisoned birds of prey, glue traps, etc., and how Wild Care takes care of many wildlife species in their organization. Stephanie brought in "Garv," the Eastern Box Turtle; he was raised as a pet and does not know how to survive in the woods anymore.

First responders from 19 communities, state agencies and the U.S. Coast Guard responded to the six-alarm blaze. In the August 22 press release, Mattapoisett Fire Chief Andrew Murray and State Fire Marshall Peter Ostroskey pointed to the ignition of gasoline vapors during the replacement of a boat’s gas tank as the likely origin and cause of the fire. Mattapoisett Polar Plunge368 viewsNew Year’s Day 2023 was bright and balmy when over 100 “plungers” ran, walked, hopped and slid into the freezing waters at Mattapoisett Town Beach. The event was hosted by an ad hoc group collecting donations for those battling cancer. The group has been successful in their efforts to help offset the unseen costs associated with a cancer diagnosis impacting local families.
