Andrew Daniel, Rochester facilities manager who was instrumental in bringing the petition to Nelson’s attention, and Dexter’s sister Debbie Townsend both shared words with the packed house that turned out in Dexter’s honor.

The Warriors earned their spot in the championship game with a big, 10-2 victory over the Heat, while the Knicks advanced to the title game, narrowly edging the Celtics, 10-8. The event was sponsored by the Marion Recreation Department in partnership with Marion’s Police, Fire and DPW departments. With the help of the students, the town has been able to fund the materials needed without the associated labor.
