Old Hammondtown School’s 5th Grade poster contest237 viewsPaige Mallioux won first place and Willow Ruel second in Old Hammondtown School’s 5th Grade poster contest with the theme “Be a Cool Community, Plant Trees.” The Massachusetts Department Conservation and Recreation (DCR) recognizes Mattapoisett as one of the state’s Tree City USA member municipalities, and one of the town’s member activities is the annual art contest that fosters awareness in next generations about precious resources.

Halloween Parade237 viewsThe streets of Marion were flooded with Halloween Parade participants and attendees, as members of the Sippican Elementary School Band helped the “witches” of the Marion Art Center lead a procession that began at the Music Hall and went down Front Street, up Main Street past the Elizabeth Taber statue and onto Spring Street, where children were met at Town House by staff members handing out candy for the kids.
