Old Colony Regional Vocational-Technical High School277 viewsWhat do you get when you mix technical know-how with artistic creativity? You get the first art exhibition hosted by Old Colony Regional Vocational-Technical High School. With only two months to plan, staff members Meredith Wilbur, Danielle Craig and Jessica Linehan worked with other staff members from all shops assisting the students in expressing their artistic and technical skills. Spanning nearly every shop offered, the students created such inspired pieces as a Doomsday clock, metal flowers, photograph

Children’s Memorial Garden277 viewsWhere for many years stood a tall spruce tree at Sippican Elementary School is now a large stump at the center of a newly dedicated Children’s Memorial Garden honoring the lives of former students Marques Sylvia, Andrew Rego, Alexis Wisner and Cory Jackson. On June 14, Principal Marla Sirois led a celebration of the vision of former Principal Marylou Hobson (1990-2004) and the generosity and effort of Steve Gonsalves, Suzanna Davis, Margie Baldwin and the Pythagorean Lodge. Ned's Point Wind277 viewsIt's a bird, it's a plane, it's … Labor Day weekend at Ned’s Point in Mattapoisett, where the sky turned into a life-size aquarium. Visitors to the park on Saturday launched large and lively kites mimicking the movement of varying sea-life creatures. Held back by gusty breezes, the "fish" faced the lighthouse as if preparing for a feeding frenzy. Children ran in the grass, while many sat in lawn chairs along the perimeter and just took it all in.
