Ned’s Point Lighthouse380 viewsTuesday afternoon offered a sneak preview of the reopening of Ned’s Point Lighthouse scheduled for Saturday, October 9, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Cathy Hardy and Mike Lally, a Texas couple, happened to be in the right place at the right time to become the first visitors to the 183-year-old lighthouse that had been closed for the past two years and three months. Little Free Diverse Library380 viewsIt's been a year since Tri-Town Against Racism’s first Little Free Diverse Library was installed at Ned's Point in Mattapoisett, and on May 12 TTAR members along with supporters gathered again to celebrate, this time the reopening of the little library that in November 2021 had been vandalized, destroying both the structure and the books it held. Full Moon380 viewsA full moon overlooks Mattapoisett Harbor during a band concert held August 10th. The harbor area has long been home to live music, and the Mattapoisett Town Band is comprised of more than 30 musicians from diverse backgrounds covering a wide spectrum of ages from students to senior citizens. According to Mattapoisett Museum Director Jeff Miller, the band goes back to the early 20th century in some form. August 18, 2022 edition
