Highway Fire241 viewsOn December 29, Mattapoisett and Marion Fire departments prevented multiple fires set along Route 195 eastbound from reaching the woods. Mattapoisett Fire Department reported on its Facebook page, responding with Chief 1, Engine 1, Engine 2 and Engine 4 to a reported “small fire” on Route 195 eastbound between the Mattapoisett and Marion exits. The flag has been on a tour of the country since 2021 stopping at Police and Fire Stations where ceremonies are held to remember the fallen firefighters and police officers whose service in the face of unspeakable horror should never be forgotten.
