Marion Natural History Museum173 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum hosted a program last Friday on the Ocean Twilight Zone with Dr. Benjamin Grassian of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI). Dr. Grassian is researching Diel Vertical Migration, or the daily vertical migration of animals in the mesopelagic zone of the ocean in response to light and predation. Holiday at Shipyard Park173 viewsMattapoisett’s annual Holiday at Shipyard Park was held on December 14 to the delight of the young and not-so-young. The family-centered event featured Mr. and Mrs. Clause, Frosty, and Rudolph as well as a really big beach chair. The holiday tree was festooned with decorated buoys in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Mattapoisett Land Trust. The beaver lodge was tested to see if it held water back and still kept the lodge dry inside. It was a huge success!
