St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church268 viewsOn February 21, St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church in Marion celebrated Fat Tuesday with a Mardi Gras party. We ate delicious food and played lots of great games. Many thanks to the Youth Group for all their hard work preparing the evening’s Louisiana-style foods and for leading the games. 268 viewsThe Marion Museum of Natural History would like to thank Karen Alves Cronin and our volunteer parents for the wonderful program March 15. First, Karen showed us how gravity and a simple bucket suspended on a line and filled with paint can produce beautiful paintings. The students painted their canvases with a colorful background and then placed them under the suspended bucket pendulum. When filled with paint and rotated over the canvases.

30th Annual Tri-Town Thanksgiving Banquet for Seniors268 viewsOver 170 seniors from the Tri-Towns enjoyed a full turkey dinner served by over 60 Grade 7-8 student volunteers at the 30th Annual Tri-Town Thanksgiving Banquet for Seniors held on Nov. 19 at the Old Rochester Regional Junior High School. Over 50 door prizes included holiday gift sets, small home items, gift cards and over 60 meals were sent as to-go meals to Tri-Town and Wareham Council on Aging locations for seniors unable to attend the banquet in person. Marion Natural History Museum268 viewsFriday night the Marion Natural History Museum hosted a standing-room-only presentation about the Black Bear population in Massachusetts. According to state fish and wildlife biologists Jason Zimmer and Steven Wright, the population is rapidly expanding into the eastern part of our state.
