UCT Mitten Tree713 viewsThe traditional Mitten Tree now on display in the foyer of Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical High School is a project sponsored by UCTs Student Council. The tree is a way of collecting warm clothing such as hats, scarves and mittens to be distributed to needy children throughout the area for the holidays. The 12-foot tree was donated by UCT student Miranda Collins.

Marion Natural History Museum713 viewsDuring Wednesday's “Soil Critters” afterschool program, students had the opportunity to learn about what makes up a healthy soil and how varying numbers of insects populate different types of soil. The soil from the compost pile had the highest number of animals, with 17 pill bugs, 26 worms, two beetles, 34 springtails, two millipedes and one nematode.
