Boys & Girls State409 viewsOver the past week, seven students from the Old Rochester Class of 2022 attended the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary's annual Boys & Girls State program. This prestigious program selects students from across the commonwealth to study civics, electoral politics, law, and a variety of other topics. The program serves to educate these future voters on the critical role they will serve in their post-college careers and to promote healthier civic participation.

We investigated marshes, bogs, vernal pools, and upland forest habitats and the plants and animals that call these areas home. The museum would like to thank the Marion Harbormaster's office for allowing us access to Bird Island to take a look at some of our more rare and endangered birds and their nesting habitat. Ned’s Point Lighthouse409 viewsTuesday afternoon offered a sneak preview of the reopening of Ned’s Point Lighthouse scheduled for Saturday, October 9, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Cathy Hardy and Mike Lally, a Texas couple, happened to be in the right place at the right time to become the first visitors to the 183-year-old lighthouse that had been closed for the past two years and three months.
