Lions Club Fall Free Family Fun Festival 318 viewsThe Lions Club Fall Free Family Fun Festival on October 12 brought out the Halloween fun. Bright blue skies graced the heavens while here on earth, children cavorted across Shipyard Park with seasonal tunes playing in the background like “Purple People Eater”.

Salty Soirée318 viewsSince 2007, the Mattapoisett Land Trust has invited the community to a soirée at the site of Salty the Seahorse. The Halloween themed party on October 19 featured musical performances by Jeff and Lisa Dunn, storytelling by the campfire with Karen Chace, and make-your-own s’mores. The entrance to the park at the corner of Route 6 and North Street was lined with luminarias decorated by Center School students. First introduced by MLT member Don Cuddy. Photos by Marilou Newell

Marion Veterans Day 318 viewsThe Town of Marion held Veterans Day ceremonies at Old Landing, where Marion resident and retired Navy Captain William J. Hollman gave the keynote address. Presiding was the Benjamin D. Cushing VFW Post 2425 Color Guard. The community also heard from Old Rochester Regional High School freshman James Devoll, who read the Governor's Proclamation, along with Town Administrator Geoff Gorman, Select Board Chairman Norm Hills, Reverend Eric W. Osterday, and the Sippican Elementary School band

Working long hours, the do-it-all staff improvises daily to provide support and supply nourishment for actors and crew. The story follows an Iranian immigrant who marries her billionaire boss's son to maintain her American visa, but the green-card arrangement encounters unexpected challenge when the bride’s besties bring boyfriends with their cross-cultural baggage.
