Salty's Silvery Moon Soiree288 viewsOn the evening of October 23, the Mattapoisett Land Trust hosted its annual Salty’s Silvery Moon Soiree at Dunseith Gardens. The yearly autumn event finds families gathering around a roaring fire pit and toasting marshmallows or creating delicious desserts while listening to live music. The unusual weather event downed power lines and hundreds of trees, knocking out power to many homes north of Route 195. Television news crews descended from Boston, as the Mattapoisett Fire and Police departments worked with utility companies and many power lines to clean up roads and assist area residents coming home to frightening scenes.
