Brownie Girl Scout Troop 294 viewsBrownie Girl Scout Troop 67047 hiked the Sippican Land Trust Osprey walk in Marion on Sunday. Ms. Jerline used her Nature Anatomy book to help the girls identify plants. Ms. Liz and Ms. Alda helped the girls carry a tune as they learned three new songs for their Girl Scout Way badge. Ms. Tia helped remind them to maintain their 6 feet of distance with her yardstick and keep their masks on— they did so well! We welcomed a new girl from Acushnet.

The festival featured live music and words presented by area and national contributors, along with video tributes and a fire show. Mattapoisett Library294 viewsOn August 7, the Mattapoisett Library hosted the New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance. Interns from the Wareham-based agency gave a hands-on talk to small children on local sea turtles. NECWA studies local marine life, collecting data for a variety of agencies. Sippican Elementary Car Wash294 viewsSippican Elementary sixth graders turned Saturday's car wash into a fire engine wash, creating a waterfall of suds and having the kind of fun kids normally associate with what happens on the weekends before school is back in session. Organized by Volunteers at Sippican Elementary (VASE), the school's 501(c)(3) non-profit parent-teacher organization, the event held at the Marion school's bus loop off Main Street raised money for the students' mountain classroom trip, a three-day excursion planned for June 20
