Mattapoisett Woman’s Club295 viewsAt the Mattapoisett Woman’s Club luncheon on March 17, members donated to support World Central Kitchen for Ukraine and filled a jar with cash and checks totaling $500. The next afternoon, March 18, several members of the Garden Group collaborated to create window-box displays at the Mattapoisett Post Office. The design was created by Sharon Doyon to show support for the people of Ukraine. The Garden Group was honored to have several people stop to comment and thank them for their efforts

Marion Natural History Museum295 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum after-school group had a chance to take a closeup look at some of the amphibians and invertebrates that require these special habitats to survive. We found a leaf-rolling caddisfly larvae, several colorful chronomidge larvae, salamander and wood-frog eggs. All specimens made their way safely back to their specific pool, and the kids have learned to have a new respect for these “nurseries” of the forest. The event was sponsored by the Marion Recreation Department in partnership with Marion’s Police, Fire and DPW departments.
