Empty Bowls218 viewsOn Thursday November 18, 2021, the Tri-Town community came together to support student artists and their activism to help neighbors in need. The Old Rochester Regional High School Art department hosted its second "Empty Bowls" event. This Fall, students in both Ms. Butler’s and Ms. Mogilnicki’s art classes designed and created ceramic bowls. On the night of the event, patrons made a donation and chose a one-of-a-kind, work of art for their soup.

Marion Food Pantry 218 viewsThe Marion Food Pantry is almost set to open at the Cushing Community Center. Hours will be Tuesdays from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm and on Thursdays and Saturdays from 10:00 am to noon, according to Council on Aging Director Karen Gregory. The pilot program will begin by offering nonperishable food and household items and is considering expanding to Mattapoisett and Rochester, adding perishable food offerings contingent on available storage.

Ski Jumps218 viewsTabor Academy sophomores Andrei Sarbu (yellow pants) and Joe Barry and friends enjoyed their Sunday afternoon, turning the little sledding slope on Spring Street at Tabor Academy’s soccer field into a ski jump. Rochester Grange Agricultural Fair218 viewsUnlike recent years when greeted by stifling heat or torrential rain, the 2023 Rochester Grange Agricultural Fair was held in gorgeous weather on August 19. Outside the Grange Hall, attendees enjoyed animals large and small with the Plymouth County 4-H Club, while inside blue, red, green and yellow ribbons adorned winning entries from farmers, gardeners and craftsmen of all ages. Old Rochester Regional Unified Basketball Team218 viewsThe Old Rochester Regional Unified Basketball Team dominated Tri-Town Fire and Police to the delight of a packed ORR gymnasium on November 21. ORR seniors Traeh Carrington, John Butler and Jake Newton were recognized. Police chiefs Jason King (Mattapoisett), Robert Small (Rochester) and Richard Nighelli (Marion) presented $200 each from their respective departments to ORR’s Unified sports program, and nearly $2,700 was raised in ticket, T-shirt and concession sales.
