Executive Director Jim Bride and president Alan Harris held a live Zoom meeting for those who could not attend, and some of the donors for the project assisted in the ribbon-cutting. Mattapoisett Retiries 359 viewsFour recently retired, municipal employee relations were honored Tuesday afternoon for their long tenure and service to Mattapoisett and its residents at an outdoor ceremony. The four retirees are former Library Director Susan Pizzolato (11 years), former assistant Harbormaster Bob Ketchel (25 years), and Highway Department employees Jay DuPont (19 years) and Roger Fleurent (12 years). Pizzolato and Ketchel also received citations from the House of Representatives and the state senate.

Marion Natural History Museum359 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum's afterschool group had fun last week learning why deer and moose grow antlers, when and why they lose them, and where to look for the shed antlers. We talked about horns versus antlers and inspected some of the museum specimens of each. We then split into groups and hid pretend "antlers" outside and had a blast hiding them on each other and trying to locate them in the fallen leaves. Saint Gabriel's Church359 viewsAfter Sunday's 10:00 am service at Saint Gabriel's Church in Marion, families and friends used the coffee hour to make Advent wreaths. Grandchildren, grandparents, couples and kids all had fun making their wreaths. An Advent wreath is a circle of greenery with four candles. The candles represent the four Sundays leading up to Christmas. As it was the first Sunday of Advent, so we lit the first candle.
