Arts in the Park318 viewsSeveral hundred people came out to enjoy the annual Arts in the Park fundraiser hosted by the Marion Art Center on July 10. Forty artists who had been invited by a MAC jury to participate featured their crafts and art objects. The jury ensures the quality of the items on display and also gives up-and-coming artisans a platform to showcase their work. Sippican Elementary Car Wash318 viewsSippican Elementary sixth graders turned Saturday's car wash into a fire engine wash, creating a waterfall of suds and having the kind of fun kids normally associate with what happens on the weekends before school is back in session. Organized by Volunteers at Sippican Elementary (VASE), the school's 501(c)(3) non-profit parent-teacher organization, the event held at the Marion school's bus loop off Main Street raised money for the students' mountain classroom trip, a three-day excursion planned for June 20
